Site Foundation - Dynamic Brochure

The Dynamic Brochure website foundation is suitable for a business launching a new service or product, a political campaign just getting started, or professionals such as attorneys or accountants who want to establish their presence on the Internet. Because this and all of our foundations are built on dbcObjects™ technology, your site can be enabled with multilingual capability. The Dynamic Brochure foundation generates a website that can promote your business locally, nationally and internationally.

Your Dynamic Brochure site will have the following features and functionality:

  • Graphic Interface - one of the most important features of a website, it establishes the "look and feel" for your site. We will create both a full home page interface and a coordinated inside page interface and encapsulate these interfaces in dbcObjects™ so they can be easily used where appropriate throughout your site. To create your unique graphic interface may require that new artwork be created and images and existing artwork and logos be properly scanned, formatted, sized and adapted for web usage. Our copywriters and designers will create everything required, but you may be able to keep costs down by providing some or all of the artwork and copy.
  • Home page - this is the entry portal for your site that displays your full graphic interface.
Your Home page will have up to five dbcObjects™ Containers. In each dbcObjects™ Container you can place any number of articles, graphics, dynamic date/time, links, etc.  Your Home page will do double duty as a "Show Article" page. This way, you only need to show the "teaser" (a display option for all dbcObjects™ based Article Objects) for long articles on the Home page and a link will automatically appear directing your visitor to the full content of the article. Look at the leadingedgeinternet.com home page for an example of this.
  • About Us page - on this page you will have up to five dbcObjects™ Containers in which you can place articles that describe your company, its personnel, and how to contact you.

(Part II)
  • Products and Services page - on this page you will have up to five dbcObjects™ Containers in which you can place articles that describe your products and services.
  • Basic Site Statistics - included with your site is a special Content Object based on dbcObjects™ technology that encapsulates the basic statistics functions you need for your site. This object, called Statistic, comes complete with bar graph display handlers to display the page views for every page on your site and an Include object that will show the world the total number of views for any page you like.
    • For an example of the view counter Include object see our home page, lower right column. When you are browsing your site in design mode (see the dbcObjects™ Administrators Webtop below) a bar graph icon will appear next to the page views - click on it to see the graph of the views for that page!
  • Site Map page - the site map provides your visitors with a convenient tool for finding any page in your site using an intuitive graphical tree. However, what makes your site map unique is its fully dynamic nature - keeping your site map current has never been easier. Thanks to dbcObjects™ technology, your site map is automatically updated everytime you add a new page to your site! Check out the leadingedgeinternet.com site map for an example of what your site map will be.
  • Marketing Plan - a marketing plan will be created and implemented for your new website. This plan includes manual submission to the top 45 search engines and <META> tags on every page. Click here for complete details of the Marketing Plan.

For many more exciting features - go to page 3!

(Part III)

  • dbcObjects™ Administrator's Webtop - this powerful tool is the administrator's interface for your site and it can be accessed using Internet Explorer version 5.0 or above. The following dbcObjects™ Content Objects will be available for your company to use:
    • Article - the core object for content and the basic object of any site, the Article object has the following properties which you can populate:
      • Title - Any word or phrase up to 250 characters
      • Teaser - Usually a paragraph to capture the attention of visitors and make them want to find out more about the topic. When you select the "Title and Teaser" display handler, the Title and Teaser properties will be displayed on the site along with a "See the full text of this article" link that will display the Title, Body and Footer. The teaser may contain graphics, tables, links to other pages, basically any HTML code.
      • Body - This is the main body of an individual Article object that can be up to 64,000 characters in length and can included graphics, links to other pages or websites, tables, and any HTML code. For very long articles, simply create several Article objects and place a link to the next and previous object at the bottom of the each one.
      • Footer - Displayed in a smaller font, the footer can contain any HTML code and text. Usually the place to put the copyright notice for syndicated articles.
      • Language - Every Article object has a base language and may have any number of associated translations! This is a very practical demonstration of the power of dbcObjects™ and Object Orientated Programming in general.
      • Published - You may elect to keep an article in unpublished form while it is undergoing editing and revision. This way the content of the article will not be visible on the site and will appear in site-wide searches.
    • Include - the core object for functionality, the Include object has the following modules, all of which are custom built for your site
      • Date/Time -
      • Page Views Counter -
      • Header -
      • Footer -
      • Top Navigation -
      • Left Navigation -
      • Right Navigation -
      • Bottom Navigation -
